Tacos come in threes. The chillies tell you how hot.
Our story
Mariana came from Oaxaca in 2015 with her grandmother’s tortilla recipe and no wish at all to make Tex-Mex tacos. Two years later she opened La Güera in an old bicycle workshop on Carrer de Verdi.
The corn comes from Tlaxcala and we nixtamalise it here, in our kitchen, every morning at seven. That’s why the tortillas sometimes run out before the tacos do.
- 600tortillas made by hand every day
- 40mezcals from eighteen producers
- 9molcajete salsas, from mild to dangerous
